Marina Water Depth Reports

General Information:

Southpoint Marina has been in existence since the late 1970's.  In 2002, the Daniele Family took over ownership of the Marina and transformed the facilities into a modern, service friendly marina.  The water levels have changed very little throughout the 30 years that the marina has been in operation.  Early reports that date back to 1983 show similar depths compared to what is currently  found today in 2007.  The marina has been dredged only one time in the late 1980's; however, dredging was terminated after a short amount of time due to lack of proper permits and poor operational standards.

The first major dredging project at Southpoint Marina will take place during the next few years.  Work with the Department of Environmental Conservation has been in progress over the past 18 months under the supervision of a hired professional Dredging Consultant.  This dredging project will bring all water levels to a minimum of 6 feet.  The dredging project will be done in between boating seasons as to not interfere with marina member activities.

Agencies Currently Holding Southpoint Marina Dredging Applications:

  • Army Corps of Engineers
  • NYS Department of Environmental Conservation

Historic Water Depths:

Below are some links to the DEC and Army Corps Of Engineers websites depicting water levels over the past years.  It is amazing to see how stable and consistent the water levels have remained over the course of time.
